For the 2002 season Ty was offered a AMA National ride for Annadale Racing.  He competed in the Supersport and Superstock devision.  Gaining multiple top ten results as well as a fourth place in superstock at Mid Ohio.  Over the next couple of years Howard went to finish in the top ten in the AMA point standing multiple times.  Also finish the Daytona 200 in eight place during the 2005 season.  Continueing to ride the CMRA series, Ty won the overall #1 plate in 2005 and 2006.  Adding another 30 class championships and setting track records over 20 times.  Currently holding 10 track records.

Riding for Team Aprilia USA, Ty brought home the 2007 and 2008 AMA Moto-ST championships.  Winning the 2008 Daytona 300 and four other Moto-ST races during the two year span.  Now riding for KTM, Ty competes in CMRA Sprint and Endurance series aboard the KTM RC8R. 

Ty began teaching private lessons in 1998.  During the 2002 season Ty had Jeff Haney as his personal coach.  Jeff taught many great riders including Kevin Swantz, Nicky Hayden, and Jason Disalvo.  Jeff teachings help Ty become a smoother, more consistent rider that crashes less.  These are the same fundamentals that Ty teaches in his classes today.  In 2003, Ty began the lead instructor of the Ridesmart Motorcycle Schools.  Ridesmart has grown to become one of the most attended and cost efficient schools in the United States.  Howard became an instructor at the newly formed Skip Barber KTM Superbike School in 2009.  The school takes place at the home of the MotoGP USGP, Laguna Seca.
